POTUS wants Mueller to have much more time to incriminate themselves. That way when they start locking up the big fish Mueller will understand why they cuff him for fraud at the podium as they announce his involvement in Uranium 1.

According to the redacted original FBI 302 of the Flynn interview, finalized on February 15 (two days after Flynn resigned), Flynn claimed that he never asked the Russians not to escalate following new U.S. sanctions and that he never asked them to vote a certain way at the U.N. He said his comments were more along the lines of asking how they were going to vote, not telling them to vote a certain way. That turned out to not be true. According to Sara Noble's article, partially quoted above, General Flynn did lie to the FBI interrogators. That came as a surprise to me, as the initial 302 had not been released until this court case.

Yes, but if he lied KNOWING they had the transcript, he did it for a reason.

To answer number 3, i think it was to find out if muller and the fbi had originally sought to charge Flynn with treason, or if they had considered it at any time. Number 4 is possibly he got feedback that the fake news took his comments out of context and ran with it (surprise surprise)..., And he sought to clarify his comments.

Flynn and the "two associates" were part of a US counterintelligence op in Turkey. Flynn is refusing to further cooperate because he would be forced to compromise their cover. Mueller wants to know about the op in more detail since Gulen was part of a terror network that he and Hillary were protecting, and he has been using a bind on Flynn to try to get him to say more. Flynn is not going to play along. Deferring sentencing just means that Flynn can wait for DECLAS when the terrain will look a lot different.
