It's another drop in the bucket to why I prefer using archives. No autoplay bullshit there.
You can block the element with ublock origin but it's per page.. so the next time you go there to read something the video will be there again.

The archive sites have an error that prevents them from loading at all. I use uMatrix and unblock various elements when I want to see something like a video. Usually, most of the crap the page tries to load is unnecessary.

I rarely have an issue with archive.today and prefer it over wayback. Content was allegedly removed from wayback, wayback when pizzagate got smashed on and they lost a lot of shit. Archive.today also has a download option to save to disk.

News sites hit you with ads when you try to read an article. Its a huge turn off and makes you not want to read the article whatsoever. They have to feature these people to keep their diabolical agenda ridden promotion of certain political ideas in line though. The media should become subject to private and local firms and there should be checks on how large it is allowed to become.

They are no longer gatekeepers, they have lost the narrative, they have to push their videos' sights and sounds upon you.

...and they ALL follow the same shitty format. Absolute worst site layout! It is as if they don't actually want you to view their site.
Also, any site that has a stupid fucking "subscribe to our whatever" overlay or anything else that pops up as I am trying to read gets killed faster that I can remember what it was I came there for in the first place.
Liveleak started doing that shit where the video follows you as you go to the comments, guess what site I don't view anymore? If I want to view it I use Tubeoffline. With DailyMail (which still publishes WW2 propaganda, holocaust survivor stories, etc) I will use Torch browser to download any videos.
Fucking Idiots is right!
