I don't know about building self-esteem, since this is not a Christian concept but a humanist one, but certainly, learning about food and where it comes from, and then, how to cook wholesome food, would be a great start and much needed reorientation away from processed, dead food!

Agreed. Any life skills are good to embrace. The more you know the more you believe in yourself. If that's self esteem it's a long way to have worthy amount. Anyways yeah one piece at a time. One day at a time. After many if you keep building you will have a mansion of knowledge.
