According to Jeremiah 3, He divorced Israel. This is why remarriage is necessary in Christ. They’re more than welcome to come to repentance at the cross like the rest of us.

And that will happen, but only after the Time of Jacobs Troubles

Is God's promise towards a state, or to the people? Where are those people today? I'm not saying God has, or ever will, turn his back on them. I'm merely reporting history. It's all there, plain as day, no cherry picking required.

While we're at it, why not talk about the Edomites (descended from Esau), who were incorporated into Jewry when they were conquered by them. Edom has a whole bunch of it's own prophecies in the Bible, and now that people group is indistinguishable from modern day Jews. That makes interpreting prophecy pretty tricky now, doesn't it? In other words, the "Jews" as we know them today - according to their own Jewish Encyclopedia - are predominantly Ashkenazi (aka Gog & Magog), and much of the remainder is Edomite, leaving a minority who are genetic Jews.

So, if you want to follow the prophetic trail, you need to account for these things.

Jesus cursed the fig tree.... never to bear FRUIT again. Nevertheless, He also said that when you see leaves... you will know the end is near. This prophesies of the fig tree (Israel) coming back to life (it has now been a nation for 70 odd years), and yet it will be found to not bear the FRUIT of righteousness that God requires.

Anyhow, time will tell, won't it?

God’s promise was to a Chaldean man, and is fulfilled In Christ (Galatians 3)
