By signing the USMCA agreement (if it passes), Mexico just paid for the wall.

That'd be great, but doesnt involve Mexico

Of course it involves Mexico. When it’s legal competition will drain resources from cartels / corrupt. Much of the money we send the cartels ends up in the hands of the politicians. Cut it off. Federal legalization would spur US growers. Put a tariff on Mexican reefer crossing the border.

Deporting illegals will also save us money for their welfare, healthcare, food stamps, college etc. The Mexican govt. relied on a lot of that money being sent back to Mexico.

It costs us over 100 billion a year today to deal with reported/accountable aspects of illegal immigration, many times the cost of a wall right there. Trump has renegotiated trade deals and other accommodations which do in fact result in 'Mexico' paying for it, and of course Trump meant that on a couple levels too.

Restructuring trade to free up $$ essentially makes Mexico pay for the wall...may be wrong but it's a thought
