As a person who supports the Carlists and neoreactionaries I think that it is necessary to keep the monarchy in place in Spain.

It represents its past and the constitutive form of the parliamentary/constitutional democracy present in Europe.

Most people tend to forget that democratic systems in Western Europe arose from the monarchy and its positioning within and over the socio-political system itself.

I think if they got rid of the monarchy it would create some unfounded issues where the whole framework of the parliamentary/constitutional democracy in Spain would lose its representational form.

Given how shitty their elected leaders are they should probably keep the monarchy and get rid of the elected government.

The shitty monarchy deserves it for throwing Franco under the bus, they are useless.

Spaniards have been casting ballots in unofficial people's votes to abolish the monarchy. Many say it's time Spain became a republic and argue that the king no longer helps to hold the country together.
