On the one hand, a so called free press has gotten us so much "sources said" bullshit that they don't really deserve to be defended. And the safety of society from terrorists who join ISIS is probably more valuable than the free press at this point. Still, it's a shame that it had to come to this.

Well then stop consuming news that quotes anonymous sources, or stop consuming news that has a history of misinformation. Restricting rights is rarely the correct answer. You are advocating for what? Giving up another right for ‘the safety of society?’ Seems like something we’ve been warned about in the US by one of the founders.

I don't consume that news directly, but I do hear about it constantly.
The right of the free press and the right to religion seem easily abused to me when unscrupulous people abuse those rights to lie and destroy society
