The November wave was comprised of just a single frequency, and appeared as an unusually simple, clean zig-zag of about 17 seconds in length.
Independent seismologist Anthony Lomax tweeted the following image
At the top is the simple, unfiltered mystery wave. The bottom shows possible P- and S-wave echoes when the wave was filtered.

Good dig anon.
Let me add a little to it. Q said [17] in the kill box, that means it's important. Of course we know the alphanumeric number for Q = 17. But Q also tells us to be aware of "double meanings."
From the NatGeo article you mentioned above said:
However, there was no big earthquake kicking off the recent slow waves. Adding to the weirdness, Mayotte's mystery waves are what scientists call monochromatic. Most earthquakes send out waves with a slew of different frequencies, but Mayotte's signal was a clean zigzag dominated by one type of wave that took a steady 17 seconds to repeat.
That in turn takes me to the Milford Tower. It's a strange looking tower that went up about a 1½ ago outside the small town of Milford Texas. It's owned by a tech company by named ViziV:
A quote from the article:
The theory behind this tower goes back more than 100 years, to scientist Nicola Tesla. Yes, that Tesla.
The man who gave us AC electric motors, which eventually turned into electric cars, had a theory about sending electricity through the air.
Now, the technology exists to make that possible, but first Viziv Technologies has other experiments to carry out.
“We’re focusing early-on, on continuous signaling, things like regional GPS, radio navigation and broadcast signaling,” said Michael Taylor of Viziv Technologies.
Sure sounds like a Tesla Tower and they are focusing on communication. There are now a couple of videos out about the tower. Should be easy to find.

Yes multiple meanings. White hats, Black Hats. Some using knowledge for good, some using for bad.
I was researching Eric Dollard. He struggled for years, his labs shut down, work confiscated.
Eric Dollard is the most knowledgeable authority on Tesla technology. Many egotistical, self-appointed authorities talk about Tesla, but Eric Dollard is different in that he replicates Teslas devices – a big difference! Erick has the Temerity and intelligence to perfect this technology into faculty institutions and has made educational tapes in 1988 and these represent the only successful demonstration of Tesla’s Longitudinal Dielectricty ever made available to the public. Eric Dollard discoveries have been made public through instructional books and video footage which include: Tesla’s Transverse & Longitudinal Waves, and Tesla’s Longitudinal Electricity. Yet no sicentific faculty has brought this to the public’s attention. sauce and http://ericpdollard.com
Also found information about a Nikola Tesla scientist from Germany's Black Forest.
Prof. Dr. Konstantin Meyl from Villingen, Black Forrest, Germany. He has not only organized a revival of Tesla but developed his research to mindboggling levels. He detected that every vortex has a counterpart, a so-called potential vortex, being able to form matter. He shows that electrons, protons, neutrinos etc. are double vortexes, without needing a postulate. By that he proves that there are two more types of waves besides the already well-known electromagnetic wave (Hertz 1888). Tesla (1899) detected the electric scalar wave and Meyl the magnetic scalar wave, giving access to free energy, huge over-unity effects. The magnetic scalar wave, as an aspect of the neutrinos and therefore being faster than the speed of light, is used in all biology, so Meyl can explain how the DNA is sending information and energy as an antenna using a DNA wave.
He describes what electro smog is and how we can avoid this. The cell phone industry, the TV/radio and computer industry and the car manufacturers could revolutionize their products by using scalar waves instead of electromagnetic waves, because they are more healthy, use less energy and have one dimension more to transport information. sauce
Thanks for your input on Viziv Technologies , will research them. Cheers!

I withhold judgement on whether his theories would work, I don't know enough about what he was trying to do, but the fact that the guy was even thinking of wireless communication in 1908 shows that he was a way out-of-the-box thinker. We can transmit voice and image signals over electromagnetic radiation. I don't think is is very far fetched to thing that electric power itself can be transferred over the same thing.

Some of the Far East island nation's do a lot of research into wireless energy transmission. From what I recall, there are some interesting methods being developed that use radio, and/or microwaves to resonate, and energize special (very) low watt electric generators at long distances.

The guy would design everything about his inventions solely in memory, tested the imagined prototype conceptually within his mind to work out the errors, and THEN developed physical working prototypes, before ever writing a single note. If he thought it was too dangerous for others, he didn't write it down.
Now that is testament to trust his ideas.

Forget now where, but read it is similar to communications used for submarines (when under, I presume). I guess they've long ago resolved that issue. Last I heard (dino here), submerged comms were not possible, but was some time ago, not updated since.

Wouldn't something like Kinetic Bombardment weapons going online be much more likely?
Without knowing much about their functional ability, I would guess that it would be fairly straightforward to launch successive projectiles 17 seconds apart with each impact creating significant seismic waves?
Moreover, wouldn't a system like this nullify worldwide ballistic missile capabilities - sorta "unifying" all under a single, omnicapable superpower?

So OP. Is your theory that this was a white hat experiment? Using to measure Earth?
If so, why?
Free Energy? Testing the firmament if it exists?
