Part of the purpose of things like NASA is to get people to follow blindly without questioning things. It's on purpose that they make things nonsensical , illogical, and inconsistent. It's to get you to doubt yourself and then trust in the authorities because it's easier.

Mars is 33m miles, so the payload would have been traveling at 7500mph which is completely doable by aircraft let alone spacecraft.
