Watch out: The Dems will try to spin the voter id card as being similar to China's social score card or some national ID. The US already has a national ID, it's called the Social Security number. But the SS card is not a picture ID! The voter ID needs to have special anti-forging features like embedded holograms, layers of printed images (like on the Michigan driver's license), mylar threads, microprint, and more.

In June, the State Council adopted a revised version of the Regulations on Religious Affairs, which were to enter into force on 1 February 2018. It provided for considerable State control over all aspects of religious practices, and strengthened the powers of authorities at all levels of government to monitor, control and sanction, where appropriate, such practices. These amendments, which emphasized national security and had the stated objective of preventing "infiltration and extremism", could be used to further strengthen the repression of the right to freedom of religion and belief, in particular against Tibetan Buddhists, Uighur Muslims and unrecognized religious practitioners.
This year again, Falun Gong practitioners have been the target of persecution, arbitrary detention, unfair trials, torture and other ill-treatment. Accused of "using harmful worship to undermine law enforcement", Chen Huixia had been in detention since 2016. In May, his trial was postponed after his lawyer asked the court not to use evidence obtained under torture as evidence.
