As a Nurse, someone dying this young from a brief illness... is highly suspicious. If he had a cardiac event/ heart attack, that’s not considered a brief illness. Cancer? Nope, not a brief illness. A brief illness is normally code for a sudden on-set. And possibly something mysterious or yet undiagnosed that’s why they label as “brief illness”. Something that comes to mind for brief or sudden illness= undetected poisoning. Something that hopefully will be detected in the autopsy.

Maybe the same sudden illness the Macron's were trying to force on the Trumps when they met them this weekend; Melania looked like she was trying to get a bad/chemical taste our of her mouth after the "kiss" greeting with Brigitte and Macron sure looked like he was wiping something all over President Trump's suit during their short press conference.

Yes. The picture in the news article gives a very good shot of his face, and the face is an excellent indicator of health. He looks plenty healthy enough.
No deep nasal lines, no rings around his eyes (maybe a little yellow), no sinking of the eyes, very nice, healthy skin color, a symmetrical look to his face (no chronic pain). He is a little overweight, but nothing gross.
Looking at him, I would guess he has another 30 years left, at least.
Strange.

I haven't been able to find any info on how he died other than "brief illness". This guy was Devin Nunes' chief of staff. Would be surprised if there wasn't foul play involved.

Think of all the medical treatment available and attention given to someone in that caliber of position. There is no way it wasn't foul play with an excuse like "brief illness." They just don't want to alarm people.
