Depends on the context, but for the most part, yes it is.

Proper punctuation makes things easier to read

I believe it is critically important. Proper punctuation is how the author conveys nuance and relationship. Structure shows context. Some people will never be able to spell correctly, no matter how they try. Mostly, I overlook spelling errors unless they are on a meme.

Poor grammar can make you look stupid to some readers, which detracts from the credibility of what you're saying.

Important to note that depending on audience, good grammar has the same effect.

Correct grammar, as far as I am concerned, is a reasonable attempt to follow proper rules of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. You can't expect anyone to take you serious if you talk like a thug, hoodrat, high school dropout, etc.

You don't have to be perfect but you need to show that you at least tried.

Correct punctuation not so much; mostly just uppity English teachers care about that. Spelling maybe....even if you cannot remember correct spelling, it takes little effort to spellcheck on a PC. This forum even helps you by redlining wrong spelling (course its usually wrong). Can't think of any good reason to spell like a nigga!
