We were pretty much always projected to keep the Senate. Any dem who was honest was worried that they were gonna lose more than Republicans because they were risking 23 seats versus Republicans who only risked 9. The real battle was always in the house, because that was where we were going to find out if the country actually overwhelmingly supported trump, or the dems.
What we are seeing is dem support only because they felt more of a need to vote because of trump. But it isnt all bad, because all the moderates dems are the ones who are winning versus the extreme leftist, who are generally doing extremely poorly.
[–] slwsnowman40 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
Yes, but the dems always vote as a bloc. So it doesn't matter if they run as moderates or not.

I am having a hard time with the thought that trump won by losing.example - Where is my national ccw?
Trump wasted his majority I am afraid. Why does he care about the preservation of the dem party?
I'm realizing I may have just voted in my last election, because why bother? If I cant win anytime I vote, I'll save myself the effort, as I need to learn Farci and Spanish so I can make underhanded / corrupt deals to survive.
Not everything goes to plan, and not all plans work. There is always a losing general for every winning one, and playing the part of Iraqi Bob, does not do us a bit of good.
Now, am I secretly hoping I'm completely wrong? Yes. I want arrests happen I want the corruption gone. I want Safety and Security for my family. I want to be able to make a good living and hold on to those things that I've had for the last 20 years. I'm just not hopeful right now
[–] Fuzzycrumpkin 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
No the dems are voting for the moderates over the extremists.

Then what was red wave supposed to be about? With all the #walkaway people I just dont see how these results are the way they are. Kind of disappointed to be honest.

Unfortunately trump (whether through his actions, but mostly through the MSM coverage of him) has severely polarized the parties, so Republicans have gone more red, while dems have gone more blue. The only ones trump would've honestly been able to convert was people who were near the center and still open to to being converted. It means that the voter pool that he can draw outside the Republican party is smaller than a president who isnt polarizing.
This election also doesnt necessarily mean anything, the red wave would've been if Republicans retained the majority in the house. It is extremely odd for a party to maintain control over all areas of the government, even during Obama's era, Republicans controlled the house and Senate I believe, so this election just means that it is basically like every other presidency.
And as ben Shapiro says this isnt necessarily a bad situation for trump, now that Democrats are in control of the house, trump has a legit punching bag. Instead of attacking other Republicans (attacking Republicans only help Democrats despite what people on here seem to think) , his focus should be purely the on the opposition. Now Democrats are going to be blamed for when things dont work out, instead of Republicans looking incompetent.
Also dont conflate this election with trump's election. Trump is an extreme oddity in elections, many of the people he drew from were still gonna vote Democrat come midterm elections. A union steel worker who voted for trump was still gonna vote for the union supporting dem come midterms. Or did you honestly think all those Bernie supporters suddenly had changes of heart and joined the Republican party?

Declass brings down the house, then appoint new reps after indictments are revealed and swamp is drained?
[–] OptimusPrime4 1 point 3 points 4 points (+4|-1) ago
Maybe this is why POTUS spent so much effort campaigning for governors who could replace incarcerated reps.

Nancy Pelosi becoming House Speaker is a big problem. Ideally she'd have lost so that the problems she is about to face don't appear to be partisan.
Luckily there is enough evidence to divulge to the public at this point that they will understand and agree with her fate.
Unfortunately getting that information out will be more difficult than if she were not house speaker.
[–] sfscubarob 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
Look up Boehner's time as speaker. Power removed.
[–] RogerMoore0017 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
They don't take over the house until after the new year. Who knows how many of them aren't locked up by then. Pelosi, Schumer and Queen Maxine not excluded.
[–] OptimusPrime4 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
Yeah, maybe he realized he can get a few more things done by hanging it over their heads.

What purpose is DECLAS if the news says it's a lie and tells the story about how it is being contested instead of showing the actual data?
They won't even describe it properly, say it is too graphic to show, we looked at it so you don't have to, face swap, etc etc etc.
[–] singlebrain1 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
DECLAS will bring down the house. It was always planned for release after the midterms, I am convinced of it. Senate was the target to hold. There was no blue wave, house losses are contained. The Senate is key.

Disagree. Don't shoot until you can see the whites of their eyes.
[–] Phillylotus 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
That's the damn truth! If the fucking truth would finally be revealed about so many of these nauseating swamp features, including all the child trafficking and torture they are involved in, we wouldn't be here tonight! Enough!

Republicans have the senate. MI has another Jennifer Granholm for Governor God help Michigan! Gretchen someone is a Granholm protege and Granholm drove Michigan into the ground as Dems are wont to do.
