The ugly truth is there are only two categories of VPNs: those which are known untrustworthy and those which are unknown.
@lemon11 is correct that the only way to know is if you own it.

Only bother with VPNs at all if you need to conceal traffic from your real ISP, *conceal traffic traversing your network or if you want to prevent websites from knowing your real public IP address. Everything else VPN companies try to sell you on is pretty much bullshit. In the end, you're just shifting the realm of trust over to a third party.
