They can start them, and can get some incentives to do so. But if they become REALLY successful, they will find the same people buying them out (one way or the other) as almost everyone else out there.

"Dr." Dre didn't start shit, Jimmy Iovine did and used Dre as the face of the brand.
You really think at any point Dre had an actual role in the design, marketing and production of any of their products, let alone the tech/brand licensing deals and subsequent exit strategy?
At best the most Dre did at any point was look at a few concept sketches and prototypes and either say "Yeah I like that" or "Naw man, that ain't hot." Hell, Dre doesn't even play any musical instruments, everything he's "produced" was funded by someone else and consisted of him sitting in the studio listing to others riffing and telling them what sounded good and what didn't. Even his lyrics were written by others.
Dre's about as involved as Tom Clancy is in everything produced with his name on it since 2009.
