A family friend had died and we had just come back from the funeral. I was telling a few friends that I was still emotionally screwed up by it and I didn't really want to be fussed over and stuff. One of my friends said something to the effect of 'I hope your day gets better.'
I distinctly remember answering, "Oh yeah, going home and having another crying jag is always fun..." She was already off in her own little world and responds with "Thanks! You too!" The rest of the people freeze and watch her bounce away in disbelief and I can't help but shake my head and mutter, "Dizzy Bitch..." Couldn't even muster it in myself to be angry.

"I love you", "thanks, you too"..... doesn't work well.

Back when I delivered pizza, I loved telling people, "Enjoy!" because this almost always happened.

When someone tells you that you're looking much better after you've been ill.
