I wonder if He only comes if He is called, through prayer first and always and when he finds pure soldiers of the Church militant, and only after that does he act through the other means.
It's ironic that we in the modern West, in the lands of former Christendom, find it is easy to look to the Asian religous forms for contemplative connection to the divine, seeing it as a real possibility, and acknowledging their traditions,
BUT we completely ignore the fact that Christianity has its own very extensive history of monastaries, ascetics, holy men and many alternative ways of finding God from just Sunday church services.
That whole era is erased from the history that is taught to us, and we are never told that it was very influential for quite some time.
It is OUR tradition, our civlization, which was the basis for the greatest expression of human aspiration, and the most basic cultural carrier wave through which science could spring forth and flourish.
And all humanity is included, invited, welcomed with loving arms.
The problem is: from the very beginning, the Church was under attack, and being eroded and corrupted from within by enemies sworn to see its destruction.

I'm not sure. But I know I feel him. It's terrifying and awesome.
