As I understand it, it's because of the rampant cronyism and protectionism (thanks to Pay2Play™ lobbying) which allows drug companies to figuratively (and in many cases, quite literally) bleed their patients dry. Your problem seems to be more with Medicare, than anything else.

Yes, and the end result is that Americans are more or less subsidizing the R&D for new drugs by paying more for them.

But this is all typical European behavior. They have the US protect them, they have the US subsidize their drugs, and then they brag about how they can afford things like healthcare, social programs, etc. After two years of Trump, I've been able to see how liberals overseas and make life worse for Americans.

And then, you have American leftists telling everyone the wall is too expensive, we waste too much money on the military, etc, while they hand over money to their fellow socialists and communists in other countries.
