Depends on where you live, in many states you can't vote in primaries if you aren't registered to that party.
A faction of Hardcore Democrats have always registered Republican to sabotage our primaries. My theory is that they did this with Trump beleiving they could easily beat him.
2010 was first year I voted. Straight R. Never thought I'd do that but Democrats were just principle concern trolling about deficits, outsourcing, and military adventurism issues I agreed with during Reagan and both bushes. One year of Obama showed me their true colors that blue collar dems are as powerless as they are extinct. Clinton sucked but at least he wasn't a social justice berserker

I would not be a bit surprised. Only a few thought he had a shot, I didn't think he was serious until later in the process. I thought initially it was just another publicity stunt.
Same here as far as not taking it too seriously at first... when he started beating Hildabeast's @$$ with the debates, I sat up and took notice! SOOOOO glad we have him for president and not her (((shudder)))
Registered as Dem during the war against GWB and the Neocons. Still registered as Dem cause I'm lazy and don't really know where to go to change it. Voting for mostly Republican candidates lately, but not bound by loyalty to any party.
Yes, I used to...but decided to go straight Republican because SOME states don't let you participate in the PRIMARIES if you are INDEPENDENT. They PENALIZE you....which is ohhhhhh sooooooooo wrong!

Registering as an Independent, I get that, unfortunately independents are unable to vote in primaries, primaries ate crucial to getting the right candidate on the ballot,

Until Donald Trump entered the picture it didn't make any difference, ALL candidates were under cabal control. We only thought we were making a difference. We could have voted for anyone, but (((they))) still win.
