I was curios to see how signficant the switch to voat actually was and wanted to see if there was enough growth momentum to ensure sustained quality content which would keep users invested in the platform. While it's still too early to make a definitive judgement about the future success of the site, I think this is still an interesting data point that hints at how widespread the adoption of voat has actually been.

I actually considered that and struggled wether I should post it here. I decided to go ahead because, a) voat and reddit can be considered part of the tech industry and b) because the influx to voat is in part based on a feeling of disenfrenchisement by the Users, and in part politically motivated (voat has less restrictions on content, opinions or behavior), and c) I just found the graph somewhat surprising, thought others might be interested as well and didn't quite know where else to post. V/Technology might have been a better fit though or maybe a metasub, although I am not familiar with those.
If it's too off-topic I'm Fine with deleting the post though.

I think it is relevant, I expect pretty much everyone in kia is interested in the whole /r/ → /v/ thing.

I, uh, wasn't actually expecting that uninterrupted climb. I had figured you'd actually be able to see Reddit's mistakes plotted on a timeline. Instead, it looks like a massive steady influx. Curious what it's going to look like after Reddit's next wave of subreddit bans.

Yeah, that's what surprised me as well. The prolonged negative attention and the scandals on reddit seem to really have raised awareness about voat, not just among those who actively looked for a new platform, but among general redditors as well.

shows you the last two months. Right click on the graph on alexa and "open image in new tab" to get that in the future. Where it says "r=1y" in the url I changed it to "r=2m", you can also do "w" for weeks. In that, you can see the two spikes but it continued rising after those.
