Remember them, hell I think I still have scars on my shins. Not to mention the indentations in the bottoms of my feet from riding bare foot.

Still would rather those. Dirt bikes and mechanical horses will always be far more superior. Especially for us with ruined disks in our backs.

No, but I stabbed myself on the chainring when the chain broke on an incline. Those things are sharp and easily punched through to the muscle. I still (after twenty years) have a "dotted line" on my right calf........

Pedal bite. And yes many a time. My shins dont grow hair anymore because of all the scar tissue.
