Each trade has a different set of tools. I have my paint box. My electric box. My plumbing box. My giant automobile box. My carpenter tool bag and box with power tools. My computer precision tools. My tinkering tools. My cleaning tools. Too many to list. Every job needs a specific set of tools to do it efficiently and correct.
Your gonna need plumbing, electric, paint, carpenter, and cleaning tools. Depends on type of plumbing. Galvonized, copper, pvc, and god forbid pex, flux, pipe cutters, level, wrenchs. Wire cutters, electric tape, proper electric screwdrivers, fisher, and testers. Brushes, rollers, scrapers, ladders. jigsaw, hammer drill, circular saw, jigsaw, drill bits, hammer, chisel, sandpaper, sander, saws, both drywall, tile and wood. broom, mop, vacuum. This is just a small portion. It takes many years to become a proper general builing maintenace man.

Looking at your reply to Mike_Foster, I'm thinking $30? Nobody want's to spend a bunch of money on the duplicate tools you don't want.

I was thinking he wanted to buy and I was including small power tools. (Drills, saws etc)

$500 bucks. High end. Start by looking at pawn shops. Get good brands. Craftsman, Snap On, etc. You wont find everything you need right away but be patient

I'm asking because I went through my spare tools today and put together a pretty basic complete set for someone and I want to sell it. If you can picture the tool bags that are approximately the same size as a 5 gallon bucket it's one of those filled with all your basic hand tools.
