Well said. All of it. Really. I'd just add a reminder for everyone not to link directly to Reddit. We are not alternative to them, we are something new, and we do not want to give any more traffic to Reddit. It's not that hard to find the same page archived already

...a reminder for everyone not to link directly to Reddit.

Oh, no worries. There is usually a sticky saying as much that is only not there now to make way for this one. It'll be back up soon.

Ok. Thanks. I went back today the first time since the blackout, just to delete my account, and I don't really want to see that website ever again ;-)

Not going to lie, seeing the endless "news" posts that just quote the same archived comment/post from reddit is partially hilarious, partially frightening in terms of the spin of it all, and partially annoying that it is just the same content, with a different logo in the corner. Or all the news reporting on B. Blount leaving, all putting their own opinion, re-editing the re/code article. Then again, when "new light is shed on Victoria Taylor's firing" was just the same u/yishan quotes being published on yet another click bait site, I sighed, i really wanted new light to be shed, if only to justify certain tinfoil with regards to what is going to happen with IAMA on reddit (and I considered IAMA a fucking joke, when Bad Luck Brian was not interesting enough to justify an IAMA, where it didn't jive with everything else they do, will admit to upvoting all the top comments to Snoop Dogg/Lion's AMA back in 2012, and thinks it sad that an author resorted to doing a "secret AMA")

You might want to consider a sticky/real time discussion for tomorrow for spez' talk with the community about which subs have no place on reddit. Because we all want to watch that ship set sail, sink, or just burn in place, providing a nice bonfire to pop the corn. And even if it is smooth sailing with cheering, and fanfair, it will be a story here, along the lines of when the music died / prepare to deal with these "toxic communities" to hit voat.

I don't think I understand the question. Why would they vanish? Should I just say "fuck it," remove the sub from /v/all and let it be what it is?

Thank god. Reddit became a giant circlejerk because it all was constantly rehashed. I love seeing new content from talented people, not the same content from over a year ago.
