I doubt very much that she was protesting anything other than learning from her lawyers that the adjudication facility supporting her clearance had prepared either a request for information or statement of reason as to details related to her careless handling of classified information. The prospect of a SOR in her case would have likely identified a number of guideline failures that she would have had to respond. Not likely that she would ever be able to hold a clearance in the future. But characterizing her actions as a protest is hilarious.

She had an ankle bracelet on. She disappeared for a while. Now this. It's almost as if they are punishing her and allowing her to save face.

My gut tells me she just doesn't want to try to get it renewed because it would be lowered and she doesn't really need it at this point. I would think that a sectary of state kind of has an unspoken lifetime security clearance of sorts at least with anyone one the their side or the isle.
