That's the way it works now, and the way it's worked for sometime. The important thing, legally, is to make the research controversial. A study comes out indicating that a commercial product has inherent dangers or flaws? Put out a study indicating the exact opposite. Our scientific institutions aren't sacrosanct. Science is for hire.

GMO Corn and round up ready soy designed to take on and absorb these chemicals, are in almost all processed foods! I hear so many organic haters, I don't understand, how corn like BTU, which has been genetically altered to have poison bacteria built into it's DNA to kill and take the life of (insects) be any good for our foods? I don't care if haters gonna hate the organics.

The primary word there is insects. Humans and insects are vastly different creatures--it's like saying OFF! should be illegal because it's poisonous to mosquitoes. The anti-science bullshit here is ridiculous.

Oh, but it's safe because Neil De Grasse said so....
Edit: and He's a scientist.

These facts could be considered anti-Monsanto. I'll need you to remove them from reality immediately - /u/adamwho

Honestly, I'm surprised this surprises anyone. After years of using BT corn, and its spread to poor countries (especially in parts of South America), the surrounding vegetation and pest population has become immune to the strain of pesticide that was injected into the corn's DNA, resulting in the necessity of more and more applied pesticides. Some sources cite as much three times the previous amount of pesticides used before using BT corn (that source is the documentary "GMO OMG"). One country (I believe it was Haiti) saw this and other problems coming and refused Monsanto GMO seed as part of American disaster relief efforts to regrow crops (Specter, Michael. "Vandana Shiva's Crusade Against Genetically Modified Crops" - The New Yorker) I could go on, but the point is: Monsanto people are playing PR by claiming opposite of the study. Their studies (the few they actually released) have been proven by independent scientists not affiliated with Monsanto to be questionable at best.

Hmmm... I think you're lying. The pesticides aren't just used for insects. They are used to keep other flora from competing with the plants. Commercial fields are sprayed.
But no... That can't be. No one would come on to the internet and just start telling lies, would they?

You expect them to tell the truth when they're keeping the TPP secret for 4 years before saying what it actually involved? I don't think so...
