Exactly this. I think it's why Flake played ball with the Republicans (and why he's resigning). He's not /our guy/ but he definitely knew what he was doing, and he was the best one to do it because the Dems could easily believe he might side with them.

Yeah I thought the same. They got the 11-10 recommendation vote. But they ran out of time on the "with conditions" vote. So Flake is either an idiot turncoat, or absolutely brilliant if he was watching his watch. Great move by Grassley to shut it down however.

Here is where the Republicans screwed up. They should have had a Graham on one side of Flake, and Cruz on the other and not let him leave the room on the last break. They knew Flake was vulnerable and he should have not been allowed anywhere Dems.

The vote passed the house, it now goes to the Senate. There has been a weeks delay for the Senate vote for FBI to investigate. Updates are being given here....https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-09-28/senate-judiciary-committee-votes-kavanaugh-live-updates

he voted yay to moving the nomination forward, so we got our 11 votes. He said he would, however, hold out his vote on the floor if no investigation. I think that's how i heard it. It was a shit show, so who knows. Flake looked like he was hanging over death and vomiting up no's and yes's as he struggled with which one was the worse of the two!

Anyone feel in the hearing yesterday that it was like watching the temptation of Christ? I'm not religious, but all the dems saying to Kavenaugh (I'm paraphrasing) 'just ask for an FBI investigation, dont you want to clear your name? All you have to do to stop all this is ask for an FBI investigation. Just turn to your right and ask, and it will be given to you'
To me it felt like the devil using all it's guile to try and persuade Kavenaugh to fall in with their plans. It was disgusting. I also think it might make a good meme, but I don't know how to create one.

Similar, but Kav. appeared (to the snake) to be in a very weak state of mind, which he was on the outside, but not the inside. In that sense, it was an act. There is no question their intent was to push him into an emotionally weak state, then offer the devils relief. However, he was not really in the weakened state of mind, as it was an act. For Jesus, he was in a weak physical condition, but never in a weak state of mind; he was like a rock. Kav. was like a rock inside, and like a weepy marshmellow outside. That's why asshole played the Devil's role to make his offer, but the snake didn't know the true state of his prey.
However, this scenario was exactly like missionaries in the Soviet Union being tortured to death in ice water. If they chose to live, all they had to do was deny their faith and walk out of the freezing water, get into warm clothes, sit down, drink a vodka, and smoke a cigar. Most of them chose to die, but in those last few minutes with sense perceptions slowing down, when they were hearing echos and their words were slurred, they had lost most of the feeling in their bodies, they were losing their balance, everything they could see was like an old film slowing down into discreet frames, their eyes were getting heavier, and they knew death was at the door, those who were not fully persuaded, denied their faith and lost their reward.
Kav. was not even close to that point, though he was upset. IMO, everything else was (understandable) acting, because inside he was clearly set against the snake's offer, and deferred to the committee, in order to side-step gracefully, instead of revealing his true thoughts ("NO, DAMMIT!! FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!!")
Another scenario which exactly matches this in the real world, is in the future when Christians will be offered the Mark of the Beast, or death. As those who have consciously and knowingly faced death at the hands of another, there is no theater and no acting when you really face death. You are either determined and resolute in the threat of death, surrendering the outcome to God, or you attempt to escape the situation or surrender to your enemy.

I "Believe" that when Q posted "Welcome Aboard Judge K" that he Will be Confirmed as SCOTUS judge by the end of this day(if not Sooner) Trust the Plan! Flake was just doing his best No Name impersonation. If he has Any working brain cells left to him he Will take note of just How No Name was Removed from the scene and vote Yes when the time comes as will Murkowski and Any other RHINO
[–] 14139337? 0 points 4 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago
It was just reported that Murkowski supports Flake’s call for a delay on Kavanaugh’s floor vote. That buys democrates agenda to dig up more dirt. Does Mcconnell have the votes? Likely not...but it got pushed to the senate door... one step closer!!!
[–] 14138095? 0 points 70 points 70 points (+70|-0) ago
Totally, Flake was just a distraction. 11-10 is all that matter!!! WWG1WGA :) Stay focused on what matters. The left is going to be pulling out all the stops now!!!
[–] 14139004? 0 points 32 points 32 points (+32|-0) ago
He filibustered until the time ran out before his "motion" could be voted on. I think he was in on it and knew that his Democrat luring sensibilities would get Kavanaugh approved.
[–] 14139358? 0 points 41 points 41 points (+41|-0) ago
I think his fake deal was necessary for a quorum. The bylaws say you only need 2 minority members, and they still had 5 after 4 had walked out. But I wonder if there is more to it or if more Democrats would have walked out as they started counting the quorum. So Flake came up with this fake deal, Democrats sat and were counted, then Grassley announced a vote on the original measure! LOL Bait and switch!
[–] 14139174? 0 points 10 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago
Yes, and I think some of democrats in Red States will affirm the vote for Kavanaugh so Flake's vote won't matter, too much.
[–] 14142244? 0 points 9 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago
You're absolutely right they will affirm the vote. One has to remember - many democrats remained democrats because they all thought Hillary would win. That old bitch didn't and now that trump has won and has the house and senate, if Brett is appointed (which he will be) then you'll see people switch republican.

A choice between their job and getting lynched by the extremists of their own party or lose your job and at least be unassaulted. Between a rock and a hard place, that.
