He didn't say his vote won't be in favor, he just said he thinks it would be a good idea and Grassley agreed to placate him so they could move the vote forward knowing full well that McConnell would have to agree with that stipulation and the ball is now out of his court. They won the vote 11 to 10. The confirmation vote will go before the full senate now.

Maybe he did, but that doesn't stop it from moving forward now.
And who knows why he did what he did. Maybe he was just trying to save face. Maybe he's playing a game. Maybe Trump even told him to do that, who the hell knows. Right now it's moving forward and thats all that matters.

WAIT A MINUTE! Some are saying that the vote was taken.... did I miss something??? Are they re-convening today????

Yes, you did. They voted to approve the nomination to go to the Senate. Frankenstain thought they were going to vote to delay for a 1 week amendment, but Grassley shot her down. To quote her, "Wait, what???"
She got played.

The voted to pass it out of committee. Now it will be up to the full senate.
Flakes wants them to give the Dems an FBI investigation limited in scope and no more than 1 week in duration before the full senate vote. He said introduced the option for consideration to stop the Dems from whining about it but they'd still just whine about something else.
I don't think that would stop them from whining. Unless the FBI says Kavaugh is a serial rapist they'll say it wasn't done fairly or something. I say let them keep whining and just vote. They haven't stoppep whining, obstructing and lying since POTUS was elected.

They voted, discussed adding an amendment to extend it a week, then ended the session.

They voted to move Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Senate floor. However, he has requested a delay of 1 week and no more to ask the FBI to do a background check on the information that the committee has to secure his vote to confirm Kavanaugh.

What he requested is really irrelevant. It's totally in McConnell's hands now.
