there are plenty safer and better options than google available today. take duckduckgo for example. it is in itself a great search engine but its major concern is user privacy. even if you still want to to use google you can use duckduckgo. you just have to search for "!g cute cats" instead of "cute cats" that will redirect you directly into googles insite search but protects your data because the request gets proxied by duckduckgo. There are many other bangs aswell !a gets you to amazon, !voat will get get to voats main site search and !subverse into search subverses by name.

the only reason pple are still using google is because its a bad habit and humankind likes its habits.

Safer? What danger is there in Google?

Google knows stuff. somewhere on Voat was a link which told you what google exactly knows and think about you, but I cant find it. Here's another one. It happens to be about Chrome instead of the searchengine, but the guys who screw over your browser are the same guys (figuratively of course - they all work for google) that try to learn everything there is about you.

The privacy thing doesn't bother me at all. Having more relevant ads is a good thing, not a bad thing. Not that I see ads anyway.
