But don't you see how a user could in one instance do an AMA as a Pizza Hut manager and then in another post talk about witnessing a tornado in Tulsa, OK? Add one or two off the cuff comments about his 'IRL' experiences and you could have a pretty good idea of who this person is or at least what area they live in.

By showing a complete history of a person's activity you are discouraging people from sharing relevant and/or interesting stuff with the world. I am completely shocked that Voat users are against privacy.

This comes across as a fallacy. We are not against privacy. But we are against abuse that would restrict transparency of this website normally required to counter trolls, spammers and other kinds of evil.

If you want that kind of privacy, you already have the option to use a different account. It's your own responsibility to protect your own details, you know, if you intend to post things that may reveal personal information about you. You're already as anonymous as you want to make yourself.

I find it curious people still keep requesting this. In an era when people are demanding transparency, why should a user expect to hide their own history? Never ever ever ever ever ever post something you do not want known and or shared. This is the internet.

Voat embraces transparency. That goes for the admins, moderators and users.

So why did they give subverses the option to go completely anonymous?

What does that have to do with the question at hand? What I am saying is that if you tell us one day you are a lion tamer and live in Canada, then the next day try and claim you are a mechanic living in Florida, people should be able to call you on your bullshit. It's the same reason there are public mods logs for subverses. Users can check on moderators and moderators can check on users. It's a two way street.

This would make it even harder to detect actual shills.

Either way I prefer transparency.
