Please link to archive sites; xojane is poison.

I've never sat directly next to a fat on a plane, but damnit if there isn't a ham directly behind me every time I'm in coach. They're the only ones who get pissed if you recline your chair (truthfully, it's a movement of a couple of inches). One asked if I could move it back; I told her very politely that I paid for a seat that can recline and I'm going to recline it.

She kicked the back of my seat at intervals. The joke was on her, though; my parents had a minivan when I was a kid and my little sisters spent a lot of time in the third row kicking my seat on road trips. I'm almost immune!

"What counts as too big? Most airlines judge this by whether the arm rest goes down. Ridiculous, I know." How is that ridiculous? If the arm rest does not go down, it means that you are too big to fit in the area that you paid for. Stupid, stupid fatass.

I originally wanted to archive it but the comments get lost.

Here's a clue, fatty: If you're not sure whether or not you fit in one seat, you don't.

Airports should have those seats before roller coasters that you try while you're waiting on line, except with airplane seats.

I would gladly pay more because I am tall if fat people had to pay by the pound. I think anything over 100 lbs gets charged by the 25 lb. So 125 is 25$ charge, 150 is 50$ charge and so on (I would pay). So at 300 lbs, you have a 200$ fat charge.

A tall friend told me that some airlines have seats with extra leg space in the emergency exit row that are not that much more expensive. Plus fatties are not allowed there because they would block the emergency exit...

NOOOO. Not first class. They give you a free meal, free booze and nice, hot cloths to clean up with. Fatties don't deserve any of that!

Fat people don't deserve luxury. Put them in cargo bay.

The surcharge for the luggage is crazy too! Airline expected me to pay an extra $100 for my bag being ~3 lbs over the weight limit. I took out 2 hoodies and wore them onto the plane instead.

This is old but some of you may have not seen this yet.

From the comments section:

"My last flight was a terrible experience. The asshole beside me rolled his eyes when he saw I was going to sit in the last available seat beside him. Even though I scrunched my body in as best I could, he was still heavily sighing and glaring in my direction throughout the flight. I've never been more uncomfortable.

I live in fear that I will have to fly again for work and will be faced with being told I have to buy an extra seat (which will have to come out of my pocket)."

But you have no problem paying for tons of extra food the whole year round out of your pocket.

Live in fear

God help these dumbass fat fucks if they ever end up in, like, a war zone or anything. They'll die from shock on the spot.

This. A lot of fatties claim they eat so poorly because healthy food is so expensive, but I bet they pay way more for food than any normal human eating a human portion of steak, quinoa salad, and asparagus every night. Edit: thanks for the two upvoats! I'm now at an even 100 and will make it my life's mission to downvoat fatties!

"But I do think it’s reasonable to expect airlines to provide reasonable accomodations to all bodies, without surcharging the people who require slightly more space than others."

Such bullshit. If you expect special accommodations, that costs money. I'm not paying for your fatness to fly, I can barely afford to fly myself! In fact, as a tiny, sub 5 foot girl, maybe I should pay less because I take up less space. That's my thin privilege.

They don't seem to understand that you are not purchasing the right to board the plane. You are purchasing the right to sit in one seat. If you can't fit in that seat, that's not the airline's problem - it's that fatass who can't fit in the one seat that the ticket guarantees.

The ONLY people I would ever even say ok to this for are people over a certain height that need more legroom.

That's true. If you're sitting upright in the seat and the distance between your hip and your knee literally cannot fit, I feel for you. Bone isn't as flexible as flesh.
