Direct quote from that staffer, “I wouldn’t say my decision to leave was directly related to my gender.” That is the last line in the article. Why then does the headline try to imply the exact opposite? Isn't that more than a little disingenuous on Time's part?

This seems to be the trend among media. It's infuriating.

Probably because sexism, racism and overall bigotry sells. Media blows things out of proportion any chance they get.

Well, I think a fair interpretation would be that she's leaving for reasons A, B, and C. Reason D, E, and F are also a factor, but not the primary source of her decision. In this case, gender is one of the D, E, or F reasons.

When I left my last company, it was because I could not see eye-to-eye with my manager. However, the horrific taste of the office coffee maker was also a factor in my decision to leave, just not directly. I'd attribute her gender to the same degree of non-significance.

On a completely (not) unrelated topic, what's the Voat "admin" team look like? (Sorry, new…is there an About Us or an introduction sort of thing anywhere?)

I'm reasonably sure it's two people.
