He definitely did it. He was "at home" when it happened, yet his mom was at work, her boyfriend was working on his friend's house and the friendly neighbor didn't see any lights on inside his house. I don't think he was home at all. Especially since he's the type to leave lights on in every room even if he's not going to be in there or is leaving. So he's lying there.
