Now they'll just congratulate you for leveling up.

It took me far too long to get past thinking "Why would you level up after eating a row of corn?" when reading the original comment.

I first started doing that in Everquest and still do it to this day whenever I feel like I have accomplished something, I can't be the only one.

I make the carriage return sound as I slide it back to my left too.

Nor the literal definition of 'rewind.' Or why a floppy disc is the save symbol.

Holy shit!! Two fold...

First-- I tell kids to 'rewind' and start again when they are running or being ridiculous. Do they have any idea what I mean?

Second-- I am now in a VERY heated conversation with my SO about whether the term 'rewind' has significance in this day and age. I don't think so, they disagree. Strongly disagree.

Well, rewind still exists on remotes and DVR's, and I can see the live rewind useful sometimes for sports but I would agree it is nowhere near as prevalant as when VHS and cassettes were everywhere. All audio is digital and most devices and websites have "Replay" instead of rewind...I am curious as to your SO's disagreement.

That.. Would really annoy me. However, the point is still valid.

Or why the signal for roll down your window involves churning motion when all they know is pushing a button

I was at work and had a group of kids ask me to settle their argument about why it is called "rolling down."
