With multiplayer I can join with a group of people and achieve something that takes teamwork/cooperation/etc. Even if it's just a stupid game, I find it more rewarding to accomplish something with real people.
Back in the day a big part of MMOs for me was to creat a pickup group with randoms (retards) and manage to communicate effectively enough to complete an end-game dungeon with them.

Feels empty compared to its competitors, but I imagine it'll get good over time. https://www.escapefromtarkov.com/ is a much better game in its present state imo.

And yet somehow every time these games turn out to be absolutely mediocre at the very best. It boggles the mind that something has been tried so many times and has failed to be done right. The Forest is the closest you get to something like that, but it's only half sandbox and doesn't have anything to do with zombies.

LotRo has a few interesting features. There's actual marked difficulty for classes, where some are basic and others advanced. So easy would be "I hit the orc with my sword". Advanced classes had you stringing three different attacks into specific order to get a specific five-step combo, for example.
That said it's a ten year old game, so it's both outdated and bloated with years of power creep. Wonder if it's for the chop if there's a fresh game coming.

This is the DARK side of capitalism....MAX the cash for a FEW people, screw everyone else. Not really what capitalism was supposed to be about.

He’s right. Another example is NBA games. I went to a bulls game last year and it was only 1/3 full. 2/3 of the seats were empty. Why? Because they make more money charging 120$+ per ticket and only selling 1/3 of the seats than charging 20$ a ticket and selling out the stadium.
NFL also falls into this category often.

how the fuck is this the dark side of capitalism? it's literally socialist gaming where everyone gets to play for free and the end result is shit across the board

Lotro was fun before it went f2p.
Warframe is my favorite game right now and its f2p. I was 100 hours in before I spent a penny on inventory slots. I'd prefer and actually give them more money if it was like a guild wars model.
I pay 100$ on games all the time. For some reason f2p has to crowbar pennies from me. Like upgrading without paying becomes part of the challenge.
