With multiplayer I can join with a group of people and achieve something that takes teamwork/cooperation/etc. Even if it's just a stupid game, I find it more rewarding to accomplish something with real people.
Back in the day a big part of MMOs for me was to creat a pickup group with randoms (retards) and manage to communicate effectively enough to complete an end-game dungeon with them.

LotRo has a few interesting features. There's actual marked difficulty for classes, where some are basic and others advanced. So easy would be "I hit the orc with my sword". Advanced classes had you stringing three different attacks into specific order to get a specific five-step combo, for example.
That said it's a ten year old game, so it's both outdated and bloated with years of power creep. Wonder if it's for the chop if there's a fresh game coming.

Feels empty compared to its competitors, but I imagine it'll get good over time. https://www.escapefromtarkov.com/ is a much better game in its present state imo.

Can't tell if being sarcastic or serious, because we have enough of those.

And yet somehow every time these games turn out to be absolutely mediocre at the very best. It boggles the mind that something has been tried so many times and has failed to be done right. The Forest is the closest you get to something like that, but it's only half sandbox and doesn't have anything to do with zombies.
