Anyone have a list of IBM products or products and services that IBM contributed too, so I can avoid those.

Look at financial companies too. They are very bad to lay off people once they get over a certain income range and rehire mostly offshore. Basically means they are discriminating based on age but since they don't lay off the old and hire the young they are getting away with it. Bad thing is that the worst offenders are impossible to avoid if you ever use a credit or debit card since they run the backbone most of that flows across.

They do a lot of mainframe work, which handles a decent portion of the backend of things like banking. They don't do a whole lot of costumer facing things these days.

I don't know that the alternatives are any better, sadly.

I guess IBM isn't paying enough taxes for foreign workers.

I regret my earlier stance on H1-B visas and am glad they're finally getting exposed for what they are.

When H1-B was formed it was only designed for workings earning the 1980's equivalent of $150k+ a year. Now thanks to inflation it can be used to drive down the cost of labor. The thing with Pajeets is that they can fatten up the bottom line for a few quarters or even a few years, but once their inferior work seeps into a companies entire eco system the overall product suffers.

Of course the traitorous executives are have cashed out and are gone by that point. I swear there needs to be a hedge fund that bets against any company that staffs itself with Pejeets and groids.

Par for the course. IT in the USA has been overrun by streetshitters.

We use IBM almost exclusively (Thanks to the fucking ex-IBM "leadership" at our company) as contractors.

They're shit. Seriously. Americans mostly, in the lead roles; and Pajeets in the tech positions. More than twice, we've tried to get the fucking Pajeets off whatever projects they're assigned to, because 1) they suck, and 2) I can't understand a fucking word they say.

Fuck them with a fucking poker. The thing about our leadership, they'll move on in the next 5-10 years, fucking up another company with the "IBM experts".

Real Title

IBM Laid Off 20K Older Americans, Sought to Import 37K Foreign Workers

I do not want to minimize or downplay the numbers but nowhere in the article do they mention how much non-toilet users they actually hired. Afaik, because of Trump's administration it has become much harder to abuse the work visas because now they actually have to show proof that they tried to hire an American.

I dont want to downplay the article, read it for yourself, I just want to say it is full of words like "sought" and "wanted" but nowhere do they say the actual number of hired beach poopers.

IBM, AT&T, Harley Davidson, Train, Ford, and a host of others are all still off-shoring parts of their operations.

Trump isn't calling them out for some reason.

Amen to that. Ever heard a Rometty interview on TV? She's a blithering idiot. When IBM was going through years worth of missed earnings quarters, she could hardly make a coherent reasoned statement as to why. I'm thankful Carly Fiorina got nowhere in American politics. <Shudder>
