Also, Muslims hold the most slaves today. While there's an undercurrent of sex slavery worldwide, it's only in Muslim African countries where chattel slavery is still practiced openly.

Thousands of Christians are owned as slaves today in Pakistan and many other Muslim nations. All media silent.

The Arabs and Ottomans peddled some of the worst forms of slavery known to man. I don't think anything rivaled it. People would be surprised that African slavery(1% of the African slave trade made it back to Africa) was benevolent compared to Islamic slavery(I think slaves could own slaves and sometimes slaves were adopted as part of the family).

The Arabs kickstarted the African slave trade. Ibn Khaldun, the Arab historian, was also know for painting very crude images of Africans that hyper-sexualized them, something Europeans did not really do much until much later when they were finding science for a more naturalistic depiction of the situation, unlike the crude and demeaning statements of Arab slave traders. Of course, we know why the Arab slave traders painted such crude and barbaric pictures of Africans.

It was meant to serve as a reason to ensure they were submissive in their harems. Its amazing how much negativity has come out of Islam and nothing seems to rival it at all.
