If they put the rise through on their personal phone then it's still logged through Uber, isn't it? Still taxed, and I would think legal.
It's still bs because even if it isn't legal they didn't know that and the cops are using shady tactics to steal cars, or help their friendly neighborhood taxi drivers.

I do not fully understand how this is criminal especially from this report if no money was yet exchange all they did was book the ride for a potential customer. Since when are police officer going around and acting like protection agents for the TAXI Industry. This is just some extra layer of bullshit and another reason why people do not like law enforcement.

It never ceases to amaze me how low the police can go. It obviously isn't about protecting anyone -- it's all about lining the police pockets.
