Not everyone is fit for combat (physically, mentally.) What about a cripple who votes for war?
We might have to limit voting rights to people who are ready for active duty. The Swiss required men to be in their millitia and ready to serve before they could vote, so it is possible.

That being said, I do agree that suffrage should be contingent upon a period of military service. Oh, and should be restricted to white male landowners.

There are lots of military jobs that don't involve combat. We can find a place for females to serve if they wish to.
