Cool engineering. Bad coffee, those coffeemaker usually only get up to like 60°C, you need like 85° for proper extraction.

Check valve is usually what craps-out. Airsoft pellet 6mm works as ball replacement.

The "one way valve" (I.e., the check valve) does have a moving part in it: a rubber stopper.

Still, the idea of using boiling water to run an air lift is ingenious.
