If the US implodes in civil war all bets are off. You are right on that much. But planning as if that will occur is a very iffy proposition.
The US was obviously in a bad position over Cyprus trying to mediate an ethnic brawl between two NATO allies. If Turkey is in NATO and Greece is out of it that makes the country more vulnerable though. If it aligns with Russia that makes it vulnerable to the US and aligned states. And we're not just discussing a military threat here but the vast financial and economic power the West has that Russia does not. Trading in NATO for Russia is not a good deal for Greece. What do the Russians do for you anyway? I don't see them bailing the country out financially for example. Shouldn't good Orthodox brothers help you folks out?

The US will never have a civil war , i am thinking more like a velvet revolution Czechoslovakia style . USSR fell because of apathy , their citizens were too far from power and too disappoint to save the union . Americans are now in rage stage because they still believe things can change , they cannot . It will take only a few pointless presidencies before their apathy kicks in .
Putin was offering to bail us out back in 2007 but our government refused to even talk about it . Geo-politically speaking it makes much more sense to ally directly with Israel and skip the middle man specially now that Netanyahu talks with Putin as frequently as he meets with his mistresses . A war with Turkey is not going to happen for various very important reasons .
