I have unfortunately been in the custody of Arkansas Department of Corrections and the way they treated me was absolutely incomprehensibly inhumane. It has given me PTSD from being physically assaulted by Correctional Officers, to being locked in solitary bare-naked for 30 days, to not being fed properly. These people not only need to be punished, but the entire system needs to be shut down until proper guidelines are in place. This was in Little Rock, I have heard Benton County is quite a bit more abusive. It is in our constitution, which was obviously tossed aside years ago that there is to be NO CRUEL AND INHUMANE PUNISHMENT.

I’m all for making prison sentences suck as much as possible but, once you’ve served your time and probation after everyone should have their rights restored. It’s not surprising that people tend to end up going back to prison when even if they’ve paid their debt to society they can never really earn all their rights back. So your never gonna be more than an ex con.

And they ate your dope man, fed him to the other inmates.

Man, we really need something other than jails to punish certain things - but it would take better people than me to figure out what an alternative could be.

A law like the one that would make this illegal can be reversed for as little as $40k. Peanuts.

The poor prisoners are only going to be able to FaceTime loved ones with the phones they have smuggled in.

I'm a little surprised at the reaction of voaters on this. My reaction- "So what? Good, sounds like prisoners are actually going to be punished now."
Prison is a fucking luxury to a lot of the inmates. They've got everything they need/want in there. They aren't being reformed because they aren't being punished. If you want to spend time with your family in person, don't be a goddamned criminal. Maybe, just maybe criminality might remove you from your family?
