Second, it probably does scare away some users from vote brigading.
If you are scared off by seeing something like that then you probably get scared by hearing the wind blow.
If you click on a post that directs you to a post within another subreddit, you have no business voting within that subreddit whatsoever.
Um no. I can go on whichever subreddit I want, and vote however I want. You aren't limited to just a few subreddits, and if you are then Reddit is a bigger piece of shit than any other online forum in the history of the internet.
If you're going to call the feature "retarded" then why don't you learn programming and write the code that prevents vote brigading?
I've been programming for years, so I don't see the point of learning how to do something that I already know. And I don't give a crap about vote brigading, so why would I write code to stop it?
