No need to be sorry. I'd even agree that Hendrix was a good guitarist (within certain constraints). My contention is calling him the greatest and assuming that greatness is associated with popularity as opposed to a technical qualification that can be objectively asserted. My list, and complaint, has nothing to do with the use of the word artistic - in that sense. It does have to do with art, but in the technical sense. To get my doctorate, I had to publish new research that "forwarded the art" - my art being mathematics.
It's also why I kind of chuckle when I see people getting very, very confused when someone mentions a "liberal arts degree." The other day, I saw someone talking about a "liberal arts degree in dance." LOL No, liberal arts are the sciences, math, history, language... You know, the basics that academia should be teaching. Folks on Voat see "liberal" and "art" and really, really like to have an opinion about it.
