A few people try to say Arizona is a Southern state. More like Midwestern given the Germans. It has some Southernish history with being claimed by Southern settlers for the Confederacy and some early ranchers and politicians having Southern roots but even Barry Goldwater and Carl Hayden had a New England background. All more or less overwhelmed by post-war migration. The Cubs were the 'home' team here for years.

Also, a strong Mormon presence. Nothing too Southern about that.

With 4 million people living in it, I suppose you could say that Maricopa county has more [fill in the blank] living in it that a lot of places.

But I think the number of people of German descent is over numbered in this country, for instance, I've known many people over the years that have a normal Anglo Saxon name (like Ludwick) that they mistake for a German name.
