Every officer there should be not only fired, they should be subject to charges. This is why no one trusts the police.

I see that in the article, but no footage of him being taken in. Is there any source of this "pat on the back"?

Human law is law only by virtue of its accordance with right reason.
By this means it is clear that it flows from eternal law.
Insofar as it deviates from right reason, it is called an unjust law.
In such a case, it is no law at all, but rather an assertion of violence.
– Saint Thomas Aquinas

I'd sooner blame this on a disgruntled dispatcher than any officers. After all, the police themselves don't receive the calls - and they only ever hear about it if the dispatcher actually dispatches it.

With this kind of bullshit, how can they still stand there and ask why people are no longer as trusting or believing in them as they once did. That thin blue line or whatever it's called is ridiculous and it's time to stop it, not just with the police but prosecutors and other officials that work closely with the police as well. This is just damn maddening as much as it's sad.

They don't need your trust; just your obedience.
