I recall this coming up a while ago because of a similar situation where someone died because the police failed to respond to credible and imminent threats. The concept that a service paid for by taxes does not need to be competent enough to actually do the job that it has been ostensibly set up is galling. Unfortunately, having no confidence in a police station doesn't cause a totally different set of people to get hired (who can do the job.) The fact that communities exist who have a terrible relationship with the police suggests that we've fallen far, far behind the concept of upholding the Queen's Peace and having constables who are members of and pillars within the communities they support.

I'd sooner blame this on a disgruntled dispatcher than any officers. After all, the police themselves don't receive the calls - and they only ever hear about it if the dispatcher actually dispatches it.
The question in my mind is, if he wanted to get rid of her. Why did he kill her? He could have just planted evidence on her and sent her to the pokey for the next 15-20 years. Stupid is stupid but this is just...
Also, how many wives of police officers end up in prison? Curious about that statistic.

"The national average for abuse of wives is 1 in 4 woman, but if they are with a cop that average becomes 1 in 2 women."
Wtf? Is that statistic actually real? I'm shocked beyond belief that 25% are abused nationally and being with a cop is literally the same as a coin flip on whether you will be abused. My mind's been blown, didn't know there were that many assholes out there.

"The national average for abuse of wives is 1 in 4 woman, but if they are with a cop that average becomes 1 in 2 women." Can anyone find a source for this information? Half of all cops' wives are abused? I really would like to have more faith in humanity than that but it gets more difficult every day.
