I think it's because we live in a way that is not healthy and mess with our brain. We are not teaching ourselves to live properly with the excess we have..

Sounds like you might be leaning towards "material goods are what matters." Being able to get necessities matters, but comforts aren't necessarily going to lead to a happy life. Also, what do you mean by a "decent life?" Looking at how politicians in most of the west are working towards replacing the population of the people they are suppose to represent I don't see how anyone is guaranteed a decent life in a way that matters in the coming decades.
I guess there might be some cool new gadgets or something to look forward to.
