I understand the merger in that the US is pulling back as a trade partner and China would much rather export its dirt-cheap (and dirt-poor) steel to other countries rather than importing foreign resources, but a fusion between an Indian and a German company on this scale might easily lead to trouble when the governments of the two nations develop opposing goals.
