Didn't read past #1 and I call bullshit. I come from a country that is a fucking desert, oppressive to women, gyms for women were illegal up until recently, physical education was not provided to women, and food is heavy on carbs and fat.. yet I stayed slim throughout it all. You don't need sidewalks, fresh produce, or access to gym or some specialty clothing to remain thin or become fit. You need one thing. Discipline. If I decided to live my life like the rest of my family, I would have ballooned to 300-500 lbs like many other women in my family. But all you had to was eat less and move more.. even if it was behind closed doors.

Thank you for saying this bit of common sense! Fats in places like the US should be ashamed of themselves...

Discipline is the one thing we don't have in abundance in the United States. Burgers, yes. Discipline? Not so much.

I've also noticed that a lot of the foods here in America aren't worth the calories. Small portions, high in fat and sugar, and smells like someone deep fried it yesterday.

Article titled "10 Reasons Why Obesity Is NOT About Gluttony and Sloth." So food and exercise has nothing to do with weight? Yet here are the "real" causes:

  1. The term “obesogenic environment” relates to the influences of one’s environment over physical activity and eating behavior. [So eating?]

  2. Years of unhealthy diets [So eating?]

  3. Weight gain can be the result of emotional eating [So eating?]

  4. Identification of such genes may be helpful to identify at-risk individuals while influencing more care and attention towards healthy nutrition and physical activity [So eating?]

  5. Social influences play a role in our health behaviors including eating, exercise [So eating?]

  6. we can use food as a way to comfort us. [So eating?]

  7. Even when we decided to look at the nutrition labels, we are still dumbfounded with serving sizes [So eating?]

  8. A lack of access to affordable, healthy food along with environments that promote a sedentary lifestyle [So eating?]

  9. fear of fat is witnessed in how we talk about food, exercise [So eating?]

And then it closes with this:

The main treatment for obesity is a combination of healthy diet and physical activity.

Literally every point attempting to argue that it's not gluttony and sloth just says in different terms that it's gluttony and sloth. How retarded can you be?

Even when we decided to look at the nutrition labels, we are still dumbfounded with serving sizes

...would be closer to the truth, me thinks.

Even if #6 Food Addiction was a thing, we don't treat drug addicts and alcoholics with acceptance we send them to AA or drug rehabilitation programs. So based on their own logic we should send everyone with a BMI over normal to fat farms and treatment centers before they are ready to interact with normal humans. Cause unlike alcoholism or drug addiction, obesity is contagious, as I agree with environment. If you hang around with obese people you yourself are more likely to be obese.

These are just things to help fatsos sleep at night. Which, much like their precious CPAP machines, wouldn't be necessary if they had a modicum of self control.

They sure do love the obesogenic environment - considering it directly contradicts their story about how eating and exercise don't have any effect on weight. The whole premise is that some people live in areas where there's lots of calorie-dense food available (but calories aren't real!) and little to no opportunity to exercise, let alone walk (but I exercise for like 29 hours a day!). I definitely believe the obesogenic environment is a real thing but there's also not someone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to eat fried chicken, so....

“Obesity isn’t just due to eating too much and not moving enough!”

Excuse #1: people who live in areas with more calorie dense foods and fewer chances for normal activity (like waking) are more likely to be obese

Couldn’t even come up with one reason before contradicting themselves
